THANK YOU TONY STEWART & ELDORA SPEEDWAY, THE FANS, AND PULLERS FOR AN AWESOME 2009 EVENT.
6/28/09 - The 2nd annual Ohio State Championship Pull at Eldora Speedway was a huge success. What a great night! The Eldora grandstands was full and the crowd was enthusiastic. It was an emotional start to the night as Delynn Kale Ride the Lightning won the Columbus Diesel Super Stock class in a four-way pull-off against Jeff Hirt on Runin' Bare, Frank Keener on Bambi, and Darrick Barga on Triple X. You read correctly, Darrick Barga drove the awesome alcohol Super Stock of Frank Keener. Frank was returning the favor from the 2007 Wooster event where he drove The Judge modified. Delynn Kale is fighting some very serious heatlh issues, but God willing he was able to compete and win defending his 2008 Super Stock title. In between every class during trophy presentations to the winner, 10-15 t-shirts were launched into the stands for the fans. The 2008 Crow's Modified Champion Todd Feiss on Sno' Farmer Extreme started the 2009 season with a victory, just edging out Rob Soisson III on the Flying Machine by 2 feet, 309 to his 307. The Carroll's Truck Parts Pro Stock Semis ended with Mike Laribee and his Shamless semi out the gate at 351 ft and Joe Metzger finished 2nd at 314 ft. The final class of the night featured the Humpco TWD trucks and it was a very competitive bunch, the 2nd place throu 5th place trucks were within 4 feet of each other. However, the first hook proved to be the best as Steve Jacks on Cenpeco Pair of Jacks won the class with an great pull of 310 ft. In Between the 2nd and 3rd classes there were donation baskets passed around for JDRF and there was over $1,000 dollars donated. Stay posted for the final dollar amount that will be donated to JDRF, initial estimates look like it could surpass $10,000 dollars!!
New T-Shirts are in production for the 2010 event!! This is a look at last years' shirt. Shirt created by Excel Sportswear.
